Collection: Books from "The Hoard" ... antiquarian publications from the truckload found in Wichita Falls, Texas

Many of you already know about this "find" of old, some rare, some very rare books and bound magazine volumes Ronson Page found in Wichita Falls, Texas back in 2024.

He and I "partnered" on buying the whole truckload of them ... a true treasure trove of the collection of two incredibly well traveled folks that gathered in their travels. As is inevitable, they have passed. Their daughter, herself well advanced in age at the time Ronson met her, was trying to sell these one book at a time .. with no organization or idea.

We bought them all ... and Ronson has been working to sort, catalog, price (and as much as anything ... read) through them. I've now created a "Collection" here on the website just for these books.

I will add them just as fast as Ronson gets me the information .... so do know that it will take us multiple years to get them all us. In the meantime, they keep selling.

Just keep looking ... and there is little doubt that you will find more than one that you just have to have.

Howdy folks!

Welcome to the Book Hoard, an ongoing treasure hunt through boxes and boxes of antiquarian books that Cecil and myself found in a crumbling warehouse on the outskirts of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Many of these books date to the 1800s, and traveled here across the Atlantic, thanks to a pair of bibliophiles who at one time lived in Old Londontown.

Thus far, the books range from uncommon to downright scarce, and a few are even rare, to the degree that most other surviving copies are being held in university rare book collections around the world.

And whatever we find that interests us (with a few possible exceptions that I cannot bear to part with, we will offer up, here.

This continues to be a lot of fun for us, digging through this printed past, and we welcome y’all along for look-see with us!
