Dale use to come into the shop. We'd get him a chair and he would tell tales (that I foolishly did not record!!). Then he would drop an not so subtle hint that he was hungry. As I recall, it was like "Got anything to eat?"
Last time he came by the shop a year or so ago. Tell's me he has done his last original; having failing eyesight. He is a hoot and has been an American artist of note for more than 50 years!
Dale was the primary illustration and cover artist for Louis L'Amore. He also worked for a great group of other magazines and writers. His work is classic ... and with so much emotion in them.
We bought a bunch of his wonderful (and affordable) prints. These are so good! Take a looks.
