Royal Canadian Mounted Police ...the "Mounties". You know those crimson red jackets with the brass buttons. Yes, these are those buttons.
But did you know they have a bison head in the very middle of them? Well, they do.
Several different styles... or most likely different manufacturers. They were made in two pieces and crimped together. So, they are hollow.
All have a sewing loop on the backside that is a wire loop through a hole in the back of the button. The loop swings relatively freely, but won't pull out. Some of these have a small cotter key that was used to hold them on the fabric; some do not. Look at the pictures of each set.
Interestingly, most all the sets have 14 pieces; I am not sure why.
