This all started when a young lady, maybe 12-13, looking over my small collection of semiprecious stones - tiger-eye, ruby in zozite, turquoise, .... asked if I had any of this mineral - kyanite. I'd never heard of it.
Well, found and bought some just because (and sent that girl a nice specimen as a thank you.
This is the last piece left; was kind of our display for a while. It is composed of multiple "blades" - the blue, in a quartz matrix/base. Kyanite is quite hard. That and the sinewy looking structure makes it tricky to work into gem stones. But for just a nice diplay, this is a great piece
