This is the group I "fetched" back two weeks ago (maybe it was 4 weeks ... and finally get them up here).

These are some fantastic values for some of you that have been scared off at some of the prices; now is your time if you act quickly.  Everything here from just $10-$85.

I am going to start a separate mailing list for all of you who buy one or more of the Book Hoard Books (and that will include going back to the beginning).  I will give you some ADVANCED NOTICE - like a couple days to a week - of any other books we put up for sale.  Seems only fair since I get somewhat random in timing of the emails.

OK, for right now:    Descriptions are here:  Pictures are below  (and do know the letter/name is only on the picture on my computer ... not on any of the books themselves)'

A.    The Pictorial History of American Sports, from Colonial Times to Present.   (1952), 279 pages.  (see second picture below for long "list" of included sports).  Nostalgic and well done.   Should be $140.  Today Just $65.

B.  First Reader - The Merrill Readers by Dyer and Brady.  Illustrations on most pages; some is 3 tone like the cover.  Large type.  Still a good pick up for pre school and just above, especially if they talk about the "old days" .... yea, like the 90's!  $10

C.  The Pied Piper of Hamlin:  Robert Browning.  1926.  Book has come un-bound; been taped decently once but is still loose inside.  But wow, pages each illustrated; cover it's own work of art.  And it's a 100 year old version of a story first published in 1842.  Solid cover boards.  See all the pictures below.  If it was in solid condition this book would fetch $300 easy.  But as is, Just $45

DRebecca of Sunnybrook Farm;  Kate Douglas Wiggin - 1903, which was the year the story was written.  While this does not say "first edition" it matches with pictures others claim to be .... and with the publication date it most likely is.   One side of the spine is loose; otherwise intact.  pages are tight and lightly foxed but cover is clean and bright.  $39.00

E.  GOOD STORIES - Easy Growth in Reading.  1940, John Winston Company.  First Reader/Level 2.  Almost all animal stories; entertaining (to me even); a good read to or let them read on their own.  Nothing horrid, though I didn't check completely for "political correctness" ... but then that's me.   $10.

F.  The Complaint; or Night Thoughts and the Force of Religion.   1826.  Leather bound, small print, fair to good condition with pages well intact for reading but dark.  Spine cracked on one side but also intact.  $17.50

G  This was the "Holy Bible Illustrated" of given to a bride on the "occasion of her marriage - November 1877.  Brass clasp, Gilt edging and lettering ... and all the notes and family history included.  King James Version printed in England.  Contains the Old and New Testaments. The spine has cracked and has been sort of taped; could use some more work.  $80.00   (shipping/insurance on this book will require $13.75.  When you check out choose Fed Ex Ground please)

The Book Hoard contains quite a number of these family bibles - this just being one kind of middle of the road that we picked to offer;  some way more ornate and some much plainer.  Also a fair number of small table side or pocket bibles.  If you are interested in seeing more let me know and I'll make arrangements

H.  Common Prayer.  The Church of England - a "pocket" sized book of Psalms, Sacraments, rites and other ceremonies of the Church.  leather bound; gilt edged, Very Good condition (undated)  $18.50

I.  The Butterfly Book;  1905,   Wm. J. Holland    Very Good condition.   $60.  The book on butterflies over 375 pages - many different printings; many color plates

J.  The Butterfly Book, 1949  Excellent condition.  Over 400 pages   Wm. J. Holland    Just a newer version with revisions.  $65.

K.  Timid Hare;  Mary H. Wade.  1916.  $20.   A child's story of Native and White back when there was more imagination than reality, but not a bad read at all.  Well illustrated

L.  Squads Write;   335 pages.   A Selection of the Best Things in Prose, Verse and Cartoons from The Stars and Stripes.  1931  $70.

M.  Heros of the Dark Continent;  1890;  500 engravings; 575 pages.  Fair Condition.  $45
