After 11 extremely well done and well received books, Graves sets about to "clean up" is papers, notes, and particularly a "journal" he kept sporadically from the 1940's to the 1960's.

It is a reflection of youthful thought though an old guys eyes.  He had not, as the Author's Preface alludes, meant to do anything but read over and burn the dang thing.  He did not ... or not until he had excerpted what he felt needed to be saved and shared.  It's on my stack to get read.    Remember, please, that Graves is truly one of the authors who has impacted my life through his writings, taking me places I may otherwise never get to go.  

That said, a new found friend- the guy I just bought my new used boat from - and I are now planning to float part of the Brazos that was Graves territory,  We will see.
