William Hopton
1865, Second edition. Illustrated.

A fascinating, detailed exploration of the science of mining, specifically coal mining, and its operations & best practices, as was known in the mid-19th century.

Very scarce, not found in holdings... WorldCat is a database that contains the titles of over 72,000 worldwide libraries, including university rare collections, and while later editions are available, no library has the first or second editions of this book... imagine owning an early edition of a book that no library in the world possesses!
This is another that I considered keeping for my library! But if "someone" wants it now ... before I stop arguing with myself .... oh well, i did get to hold and explore it or a bit.
