Our library has grown. It started just as books on bison ... historical on the herds and the hunters; the very early artists and photographers of the massive herds. It had books on the natives and bison. As people have come into the store, they have often suggested other titles with which we were not familiar. Many of those have turned out to be gems!! We now try to keep them in our library, but like all our "buff stuff", things come and go.
We have lots of children's books on bison, country living and baby animals. Stories that inform, entertain, fascinate and educate.
We now have almost 300 titles dealing with those people who settled the American west; current bison ranching; plains tribes art and customs on bison. Some of the titles, however are "archived" as they are out of print and I cannot find (or have not found) reasonable copies.
Many of our books are "vintage" - picked up at library out-of-circulation events; bought from private collections or even swapped here in the store for another book. It allows us to sell many of the books for much less than cover.
Some out of circulation or difficult to find books, however, are priced at above the cover price (especially is they were printed in the first half of the last century. We try to let you know if the books are used or new, but please feel free to call (915-247-6601) or email - Cecil@buffalogold.net so you are not surprised or disappointed.
And feel free to call and ask for recommendations. I have put together a few video clips on some of the books I recommend; not quite sure where you find these on the web site .... but my web guru says they are here; maybe we can both find them!!
Like I said; almost 400 book titles in our library; many of them out of print (except for maybe our "re-prints", others priced way way up there ......
