Texas Star Topaz gemstones

THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY.

We've had a few of these before - like probably 8 or so years ago when Randy was just learning gem cutting.  I just got a message from Randy Carlson, that he had these three topaz cut with a "Texas Star" pattern .... two of them his version and one the so-called "Official" Texas Star.  

This started out as a hobby and has turned into an artistic wonder and passion for Randy.  He sources his own stones to be sure that there are no unworkable inclusions, fractures or other defects that would detract from his gem cutting.

He tells me there are a few other cutters that do this pattern ... but very few.  Each one takes between 12 and 15 hours to cut .... perfectly.  He use to offer those that didn't quite turn out perfectly.  Not any more.  It is a perfect Texas Star or nothing.

Randy is not a huge fan of the "Official" Texas Star design as he says it adds 15 small cuts that make the star harder to see ... just take a look.  However, it is the design that then Gov. Dolph Briscoe signed into law in 1977.

We have had Tourmaline, Aventurine and something else that escapes me at the moment - Citrine I think.  If you want a particular color gemstone, or finished size, let me know and I will see what he says.
