We used these - there are two of them - in the store for holding a lot of our bison coins, stamps and small photographs and art prints.
They are wood - not particle board. The veneer is walnut; very very nice. Extremely well made. National/Mt. Airy brand. They made high quality furniture prior to 1997. Just found a single one of these on Etsy for over $1000!!!!
