Continued "Big News". Celebration/Party/Adios/Blow Out tickets will be on the website for sale by Saturday ... if not before. Ron jumped the gun before he actually had the link built. The house/warehouse is really close to finished and i am excited about it. But this afternoon, I am headed for Caddo Lake in far east Texas ... by the town of Uncertain, Texas. Lots of you are taking me up on the opportunity to seriously negotiate for those things you really want. Keep it coming; we are both winning on these. New Blog Post or two later today or tomorrow (after fishing), for sure.
Yes, folks ... BIG NEWS. The Texas Historical Commission has bought the store in Goodnight. We will be there through the end of July, 2024 ... and then on line or by phone. No; we are not "quitting" - HERD WEAR will continue. Be sure you are on our email list and also on Buffalo Wool Co's list.

BOOKS - Now That the Buffalo's Gone - 1984

$25.00

A study of Today's (pre-1984) American Indians.  Alvin M. Josephy, Jr.  A very comprehensive overview from a pretty straightforward perspective on Native Americans and their struggles.

Josephy, 1915- 2005.

Alvin M. Josephy Jr. was an American historian who specialized in Native American issues. New York Times reviewer Herbert Mitgang called him in 1982 the "leading non-Indian writer about Native Americans"

A former editor in chief of American Heritage Publishing, Mr. Josephy (pronounced jo-SEFF-ee) wrote or edited more than a dozen books about the American Indian experience. He wrote "The Patriot Chiefs" (Viking, 1961); "The Nez Perce Indians and the Opening of the Northwest" (Yale University, 1965); and "Now That the Buffalo's Gone" (Knopf, 1982), among other titles.  Because of his knowledge and his passion, he was also the founding chairman of the board of the National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.
