By Charles Hagan.
Hagan is one of the pre-eminent authorities and author about the American West. After his "retirement" and having previously authored no less than 8 volumes for the Oklahoma Western Biographies series, Hagan has picked up where Haley (J. Evetts Haley - Charles Goodnight, Cowman and Plainsman - 1936) left off .... the last 30 years of Goodnight's remarkable like in the Texas Panhandle.
So well researched (with documentation omitted intentionally in this Series of biographies for ease of reading and breadth of audience), it is none-the-less the "rest of the story previously untold in one place.
And unlike (solely in my opinion) the complexity of the Haley bio of Mr. Goodnight, it is a great and easy read.
