Thank all who "voted" in the little email survey we just completed; The overwhelming choice ... both by those who bid and those who did not was MORE AUCTIONS. I'll get them going. Bison vests and coats first; Jewelry next. (and I've got some pieces that have never been on the website, too).
More "New Auctions", "New Stuff" and "Sale" being added as quickly as I can. Keep checking!! Thanks.

Texas Historic Paper - 1862 $5 Texas State Tresaury Warrants

Sold out
$600.00

Lot 52b

Warrants are similar to checks but payable by a state or governmental entity, in this case Texas.

F. R. Lubbock likely references Francis R. Lubbock, governor of Texas, 1861

This warrant has been "redeemed", which is why the "x" is marked through it.  Some interesting "holes" in this one; bugs or mice somewhere in the last 160 years it has been around.

Also comes with the "desk card" by an unknown calligrapher who made up the display tag.  Great for framing.

**Good condition overall. Some minor handling wear to corners and edges with some stains present. Some fading of ink.**
