The Remarkable Journey of Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. Very likely the first European to set foot in the west of what was to become America. Ex Library (or at least this copy). Somewhat of a young persons version, but with remarkable illustrations and detail.
Cabeza de Vaca's accounts of are what has brought me to learn more about his travels. This is an excellent primer for that.
