BOOKS -The Kentucky Rifle - Special Edition, 3rd Edition (Blue binding) and 4th Edition (in slipcase)

$145.00
Edition

by Capt. John G. W. DIllin - 1998

4 versions at the moment:  The "Special Edition" as shown; the "3rd Edition" - almost pristine blue binding and 2 different slip covered 4th Editions - on in red leatherette and one in brown

100 plus pages of pure Americana - The Kentucky Rifle in all it's incantations.

This is a red leather bound gold edged special printing; rather large format  8" x 11", but by no means a "coffee table" volume.

Plenty of plates to follow along on the details of each gunsmith and style.  Tools, accessories, mountings.  An excellent education and reference all in one.

Since I do have a number of "early" Kentucky and/or Pennsylvania rifles, a lot of what he describes helps me to way better understand what I am holding at any given time.   A complete and classic volume if you are going to own, collect or just want a fine education on the how and why our rifles have evolved.  Fascinating!
