2 different John Smith rifles - both from the 1875 or prior period. Both from the "permanent collection" of the famous Frazier Museum in Louisville, Kentucky .
When I asked for provenience on these beautiful pieces of history, the auction house (Louis and Grant) that I bought these out of confirmed that they came from a "Louisville, KY. gun museum that did not want their name disclosed ... but if I did a quick Google search ... which I did .. it would not be hard to figure out. It wasn't! There is documentation that I have found about both the real John Smith and these rifles that come with each one. These are the real deal. Almost identical (except that #137 has been cleaned up a bit).
Patch boxes, stocks, actions, barrels ... all virtually identical. Interested in the pair? Give me a call ... if they are both still available.
