Bison socks .... in Africa??!!
Well, why not. Moisture wicking and insulation (two of bison's best sock properties) work in both directions, keeping your body temperature constant. You do not want to be too hot or too cold. So see what a third hunter has to say about bison in hot ... really hot .. conditions.
"Ben Barnett here. First, the story. I went through to hunt in the Savannah of Cameroon in January this year. On day one, we tried to hunt the Western Savannah buffalo and failed to find one. On day two, I announced to the PH and camera man that I had a secret weapon. That afternoon, we found a herd of 20 buffalo and I managed to shoot a very nice bull. The secret weapon was, I had on my Buffalo Gold (bison silk technical) boot socks. VERY comfortable. Here is the catch. It was 120 degrees. The sock insulate both ways."
