Just finished this auction ... and have only 6 of these pieces available.  Quite the collection, though.  I love the old polished petrified wood look; like no other.  These are all very good sterling work  - heavy sterling from the "old style" Navajo work.  This from an auctioneer that I really trust.  His knowledge of old school Native jewelry is exceptional.  If he says "made in the 1940's" .. which he did on each of these (save the 2 he puts in as "vintage", I have no doubt.  

Each is unique; no more of these on the horizon.   I've seen similar before at $1000 plus!  You be the judge:

Bracelet 1-342:

 1940s sterling silver and petrified wood bracelet, features a square petrified wood cabochon resting in a smooth silver bezel accented on each side by a stamped crescent shape design on a smooth silver applique. The three wire terminal features a center heavy twisted wire and hand stamped designs on each of the carinated side wires. The conjoined ends and stamped silver dot accents finish the piece off nicely. 
MAKER: Likely Navajo, based on style and design, however this item is unmarked (as was common of Native jewelry from this era). 
SIZE: This bracelet measures approximately 5 3/8 inches from end to end on the silver, and has a 7/8 inch gap (fits a 6 1/4 inch wrist). It measures 1 1/8 inches wide at the widest part, and the total weight is 39.2 grams.
CONDITION: Vintage and good for its age, normal wear expected. 

Bracelet 2-339:

a nice handmade 1940s era petrified wood bracelet. This bracelet features a central oval petrified wood cabochon resting in a smooth silver bezel surrounded by a zigzag design silver setting with a darkened background. The four wire terminal features two center twisted wires, conjoined ends, and hand stamped designs on the two outer wires. On each side of the setting are three diamond shape appliques with great stamped line designs. 
MAKER: Likely Navajo based on style and design, however this item is unmarked (as was common of Native jewelry from this era).
APPROX AGE: Circa 1940s.
SIZE: This bracelet measures approximately 5 1/4 inches from end to end on the silver, and has a 1 inch gap (fits a 6 1/4 inch wrist). It measures 1 1/2 inches wide at the widest part, and the total weight is 34.3 grams.
CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected.

 

Bracelet 3-337 and 4-337

 Fred Harvey era petrified wood and sterling silver bracelets.

4-337 features one oval petrified wood cabochon resting in a smooth silver bezel. The setting is displayed on a nicely shaped smooth silver cuff accented with deep hand stamped designs.  Bracelet measures approximately 5 inches from end to end on the silver, and has a 3/4 inch gap (fits a 5 3/4 inch wrist). It measures 3/4 inch wide at the widest part.

 3-337 features a nice oval petrified wood cabochon resting in a smooth silver bezel surrounded by flattened twisted wire. The three wire terminal with conjoined sides and ends is accented with silver dots and deep hand stamped designs.   bracelet measures approximately 5 1/4 inches from end to end on the silver, and has a 7/8 inch gap (fits a 6 1/8 inch wrist). It measures 1 inch wide at the widest point, and the total weight is 37.9 grams.

 MAKER on both: Likely Navajo based on style and design, however this item is unmarked (as was common of Native jewelry from this era).
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between the 1930s to 1970s).

Bracelet 5-323

A circa 1940s bracelet with petrified wood. This bracelet features a superb petrified wood cabochon displayed in a smooth silver bezel surrounded by twisted wire. The three wire band, conjoined at the ends, features beautiful silverwork, including twisted wire, hand stamped designs, and raised silver designs. This petrified wood bracelet and sterling silver bracelet is one you will enjoy for years to come.

APPROX AGE: Circa 1940s.

Bracelet 6-322

This bracelet is highlighted with a round shaped petrified wood cabochon displayed in a smooth silver bezel surrounded by twisted wire. The three wire terminal, that is conjoined on the sides, features silver dots and hand stamped designs on both the cuff and its appliques.  Just stunning!

Native Bracelet

The Native Bracelet is a beautiful piece of jewelry. The petrified wood and silver work give a unique presence to this item. It is well worth purchase.
