As many of you keep telling us, our Sleep Socks are one of our favorite products, ever!
The sleep sock was designed to leave unrestricted circulation around the cuff - a top rising softly just above the ankle with no extra spandex ... just the natural stretch of the terry loop construction. It adds the needed insulation to keep your blood supply in the feet comfy .. in bed, walking, or even with shoes or slippers. This version of the sleep sock is a yak/nylon yarn blend.
Slipping into a cozy pair of ultra-soft, wicking, comfortable, natural fiber sleep socks after a long day can be one of the most luxurious feelings. Not only do they help regulate body temperature by wicking away moisture, but socks made with natural fibers can also help prevent odors and fungal infections, making them a great choice for those with sensitive skin. Serious foot neuropathy causes interruption sleep. These socks are comfortable, temperature perfect and wear well around the house. I have given these as gifts to two others, and they rave the attributes as well. I don’t get into bed without them.
Good evening. Are the SLEEP SOCKS bison or yak? What is the fiber content?
Erich: Good question and thanks for writing. The Sleep Sock (and now this brand new Lounge sock - a calf hi version - ) are 100% yak yarn as the base. Then the foot base and heel are "overplaited" with nylon for abrasion resistance. The only yarn that touches your skin, though, is the yak. It's a very similar - second coat fiber - like bison. But it is longer and thus can be spun finer ... which is what we need for this total terry looped sock. The yarn is spun in China, on equipment that is not available for fibers like bison here in the US.
Up till about 7 years ago we use to ship bison over there to blend 50/50 with the yak, but politics and tariffs made that no longer possible.
