Hand Knit - Himalayan Cashmere Scarf

Nope, not a sample ... but the last of these perfectly hand knit ... in the High (8000 plus feet) Himalayas by native artists.  And there is a huge story with this.  It all started with Linda Cortright of Wild Fibers Magazine fame ... and her quest to not let the native hand spinning and hand weaving history die because of the greed of some.  Check out the people and story behind Pangong Craft Center.

The high altitude produces a very very fine hair on the goats; that is true cashmere.  You can see the drape and subtleness of the cloth.  Look at the end yarns!  Between the mountains and the women and men making these, it's as close to heaven on earth as one can get.

It's not discounted as much as the samples.... but I've never discounted one of these yet.
