Great Native Look Decor! This is a beautifully, meticulously made Dance Wand. It features two downturned bison horn caps on the top, multiple bead sets most of the way down, what appears to be mink fur wraps, glass trade beads, deerskin wrap on the handle and a hand sewn deer endcap with lashes and trade beads on the end.
Well ... Houston, we have a small problem that just occurred....; the bead string on the handle broke and the beads just kept falling. No real way to salvage them. The last 2 pictures show where the bead wrap has come off; that is how it looks now. The beads in the center top are still tight and should be fine.
So, the "sale price was $139.95; We will do half of the sale price - $69.42. (Original tag ... and a good price at that was $325) This is one heck of a steal!!
It appears it was made to be gripped in the center, partly for balance and partly so the lashing at the end could be made to "fly" more easily when dancing. Well balanced, too. This is not new, but it is in excellent condition ... either for use, for display or for ceremonial purposes.
I've had this piece on display for over 8 years now. It is about 30" long. Wasn't planning on selling .... but then there comes a time! It is not old old, but it undoubtedly has been "danced" before I got it.
