Exceptional Damascus steel blades set. Very well made and a great value. The leather roll is a bonus. Leave the set out unrolled when BBQing for friends and family. You’ll get compliments for sure!

I purchased 2 Damascus Chef Sets as gifts - 1 in walnut and 1 in rosewood/black resin. My husband selected the walnut set as his gift to keep in the kitchen, and the rosewood set will go to our dog sitter and his family as a thank you gift. Our dog sitter will not accept monetary payment for watching our great dane/black lab mix, so we like to give the family unique gifts that they would not purchase for themselves. This Damascus knife set is truly unique and beautiful, and I am excited to give it to them...I'm sure they will be stunned at such a wonderful gift!!!

Usually, the quality and value of what I've purchased from Herd Wear has exceeded my expectations- this one didn't quite hit the mark.
The walnut handle set did not have the hexagonal pattern on the blades shown in the picture, was more like the blades shown in the olive wood handled photos- flat/untextured. The knives themselves have good balance and aren't too heavy.
The big disappointment was seeing this set for sale under stores named "AJ SANITY" or "AJ SANIT", as well as on Etsy- just a ton of places online utilizing the same stock photos- for $90-$120 full retail price/not discounted. Many things could explain this- such as other retailers ripping off stock photos from other retailers- but $170 appears to be the highest price I've seen for this set online.
Wandered by the Herd Wear store eastbound, did a U-turn and was happy to have stopped. I’m not much of a shopper but this place is great. Darlene was and is really a fine person, very patient and helpful. We got some very warm bison gloves, good sausage and once home I ordered a set of unique Damascus steel chef knives I’d seen in the store, with plans to break the set up for holiday gifts. I got and used the knives, like them so much called and asked Darlene if she could get me 3 more of one of the knives from the set...and pair of gloves for my wife. No problem. Darlene can get it done.
Suggest you stop by or look them up online. I know the gloves aren’t cheap, but they’re the real deal. I’ve lived and worked in Alaska for 40 years, commercial fishing and mining, exposed to lot of raw weather requiring real gear. Herd Wear has it.
