This is a relatively small short paperback as told by John Wooden Legs (aka WIlliam White Buffalo) and recorded as he spoke. It was illustrated by students at the Labre Indian School on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in 1995.
At the time, Wooden Legs was the President of the Northern Cheyenne and a member of the National Indian Education Advisory Committee.
It's (in my seldom so humble opinion) a great little short read. The illustrations clearly show the students thinking about the elders words. A great little book.
