Early December 29 I will be headed to Nebraska and Southwest Hide. I've got our "next years" bison robes to get off to the Moyle Tannery. In the meantime, there will be a "special" on the remaining few bison robes we still have here ... and by "special" I do mean a heck of a sale!!! Just a few left and they are ...every one ... the finest available anywhere. Watch the next newsletter and don't hesitate or it will be too late. (or if you email me right now ...Cecil@HerdWear.net you will get at the front of the line). More soon ... and lots more.

Bison Horn Carved Spoon - Native made

$711.00

I wish I had better provenance on this piece ... but it came from a reputable auction house (North American Auctions) and no doubt it is bison horn.  I also think the representation that it is Sioux is also accurate.

There are several natives that did bison horn reproduction carvings over the past 30 years; the horn caps being available pretty readily in South Dakota.  It's not a real old piece, but it is traditionally done and well done.   Very nice polychrome quill work and deer leather drop, as well.  With case (and the Palo Duro Canyon petrified wood that holds it upright).
