This is a movie prop pistol. Single Action Army .45 .... Model 1874. One of the pistols that won the West. Accurate in virtually all details.
We've had several over the years, but I have no provenance on this one. It is metal, realistic in weight. The cylinder revolves; the hammer locks back and falls forward with the trigger pull; the cylinder is removable ... but there is no firing pin ; no bore ... it cannot and does not fire bullets. It is made to simply look the part. And made well!
The holster and belt are heavyweight steer; great looking and well preserved.
Wish I knew the story; who made it and for what? Did it wrap around any famous waists? But for now, it is just a great memento of western movie making. Remember, too, that if we did ... and there were tales to be re-told .... the price would be way more than it is. This is a deal.
