Antique European Single Shot Parlor Rifle

$2,150.00

Antique European Single Shot Parlor Rifle, #P43166, 4mm cal., 26" octagon barrel, blued finish, checkered walnut two-piece straight grip stock, sling swivel on the barrel and stud in the buttstock, protected blade front and adjustable rear volley sight, stylized trigger guard/release, and double set triggers.

With minimal visible markings, including the serial number and "2" on the barrel flat at the breech. Mfg'd circa late 19th Century. The rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 90%-95% thinning blue refinish with scattered scratches, scuffs, and light surface rust along the wood line. The receiver shows edgewear and spots of old pinprick pitting under the newer finish. A period aperture sight has been added at the rear of the receiver and is missing the insert.

The stock is very good with indentations, scratches, and some flattening of checkering. Forend fits poorly where it meets the receiver. Buttstock ends with a color case hardened smooth metal Schuetzen style buttplate, providing a 13.25" LOP. Action functions correctly and locks up securely. Bore is good. Includes a wooden capped chamber plug.
