Painted Beaver Hide wall hanging - Native Made

$420.00

Very interesting, relatively primative piece of decor.  Bought this at a charity event; I believe it to be Cree in origin.  Well tanned moderately large beaver hide with full split tail, painted with a bird totem and some additional painting (painted lacing around the edges that you cannot see in the photos as the hide.

As to the "frame", that is my creation - two of our decor arrows with a cross member of local yucca seed stem.  It is bound with bison rawhide that was soaked, stretched and allowed to shrink into place.  And no, I would not be offended if the "frame" came off and a more professional hanging method was prefered.  That can be done before shipping if you prefer

The hang loop is made from bison shearling (another of my creative efforts).  The hide is 38" long x 18" wide.  The yucca stem is 41" wide.  It can be cut back to the edges of the arrows if you really don't want the seed pods

A very nice, very traditional piece of native art, white guy's hanging method notwithstanding!
