Antique E.L Pancost Half Stock .42 percussion caliber long rifle - 👌

$3,975.00

Elisha L.  Pancost (1822-1896) was a gun smith and gun maker active mainly in Allegheny County Pennsylvania.

This is a beautiful classic display rifle.  Well worth the money!

This rifle was made circa mid 19th Century.  It has a stout octagonal barrel in .42 caliber, large enough to take small to medium sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression.  This gun has German silver hardware and  double set triggers.

This one overall is in "near fine" condition.  Original finish.  Action is excellent. The bore is clean and reflective with sharp rifling.  The top of the barrel has a two holes nearer the breech that appear to have been for a different rear sight.  Makers name is stamped on the top barrel flat.  The stock is in nice shape, solid with just a bit of a nick at the top of the back action lock inletting.  A beautiful and well preserved rifle ready to display.
