Adam Schurk Munchen Zimmerschuetzen Single Shot Parlor Rifle, NVSN,

$1,875.00

This is one of the most ornate and well preserved "parlor" guns I have ever seen!  It is truly a work of historic art and value.  I know it's not the only one out there ... but dang, it is amazing to hold!

Adam Schurk (maker) Munchen (Munich) Zimmerschuetzen Single Shot Parlor Rifle, NVSN, 4mm, 29" octagon barrel with a 7" functional portion and chamber at the muzzle, rust blue finish, finely carved checkered walnut with exaggerated cheekpiece, right-hand thumb rest and Swiss style buttplate, no front sight with a vacant dovetail and missing tang sight, stylized trigger guard with double set triggers, lever action on the underside of the barrel, sharp markings with the barrel address "ADAM SCHURK MUNCHEN". Mfg'd in the early 20th Century.

FYI:  Zimmer Schuetzen is a single-shot rifle with a heavy barrel, a stock with an elaborate butt plate and grip, precision sights, and a palm rest. It is shot off the bicep, with the hook of the butt placed under the arm. The thumb piece is used for the hand, and the face goes on the wide cheek piece. The rifle is shot through the open palm, with the shooter leaning into the gun.Rifle is in fine overall condition, the metal surfaces drifting to brown patina. Tang displays old muted color case hardening. The Schuetzen style stock is fine with scratches, indentations and light compressions. The Swiss style buttplate has drifted to dark patina and provides a 12.5" LOP to the front trigger. Bore is very good with well-defined rifling and the action functions well.   Sold as antique and non-functional
