Continued "Big News". Celebration/Party/Adios/Blow Out tickets will be on the website for sale by Saturday ... if not before. Ron jumped the gun before he actually had the link built. The house/warehouse is really close to finished and i am excited about it. But this afternoon, I am headed for Caddo Lake in far east Texas ... by the town of Uncertain, Texas. Lots of you are taking me up on the opportunity to seriously negotiate for those things you really want. Keep it coming; we are both winning on these. New Blog Post or two later today or tomorrow (after fishing), for sure.
Yes, folks ... BIG NEWS. The Texas Historical Commission has bought the store in Goodnight. We will be there through the end of July, 2024 ... and then on line or by phone. No; we are not "quitting" - HERD WEAR will continue. Be sure you are on our email list and also on Buffalo Wool Co's list.

Original Bison Down Knit Beanie (Lined)

£69.00

From the slopes of Aspen to the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, if you need a lightweight and seriously warm toboggan, toque, or watch cap, this natural brown, fleece-lined beanie will keep the old noggin toasty!

Knit from Buffalo Gold "Earth" yarn (90% bison down 10% color-matched nylon), this ultra-warm, lightweight beanie was knit exclusively for Buffalo Gold.  The polar fleece lining is made from recycled plastic bags and is  baby soft and super warm.

One size fits most, from 6 1/2 to 7 3/4.  Better on smaller heads - the ear band lining adds some restriction (and there have been some folks that carefully remove it ... or "drop" a stitch or two to loosen it up a bit).

Bison down knit beanie

I’ve been wearing this beanie for over a month now and I’m very happy with the performance. I live in central California so we’ve had a lot of cool, wet days, temps ranging from high 20’s to low 60’s. This has been my go to headgear during that time. The inside fleece band works great for keeping the ears warm and the bison knit also works well for warmth. The only drawback is the knit pattern allows cold wind to penetrate, but then again it also allows the ability to breath when the temp is warmer or during physical work when the body heats up. I wear a size 7 1/4 and the beanie fits perfect and there’s just enough stretch that it would fit anyone up to 7 3/8.

Bison wear

The person with the order was forthright and exactly as he said he would without any hitches.
The products are fine and should make a Midwest winter comfortable

Great warmth wet or dry

This is my second bison down knit beanie. My first held up a very long time with near daily use in Montana fall through spring. Still well wearable but the brown color finally having faded in the sun , I ordered my new beanie with the fleece lining. The addition of the fleece makes for a more snug fit around the head preventing cold enter from entering even better than my first beanie. I have experienced directly the ability of bison down to retain warmth even when wet which is a trait that will keep my using it going forward.

Matt: Thank you for writing (and wearing the beanies). Interesting as to the sun fade. We've seen the same thing on live bison and on bits of shed bison fiber ... just not frequently. The sun has a way, eh?

Thanks again; stay warm and safe.

Beanie review

Hi Cecil,
It finally is cold enough for warm clothes. My granddaughter loves her beanie. Says it keeps her head warm and does not itch. Very important feature. Thanks for making this product available. Also for quick delivery.

Great Gift!

Two of my friends now live in Maine. I gave the husband one of these beanies this past September for his birthday. He really liked it, but the wife kept wearing it every chance she got. So, to even things out, this more recent purchase is for her for Christmas (or maybe it'll be for him). Obviously, this beanie is a big hit with them. Thank you for your help in making them happy.

Blessings for Cold People

I run cold, my feet are blocks of ice, my ears freeze just looking outside...the answer is BUFFALO!!! Which is 100% warmer than sheep wool. I can’t say enough good things about Cecil’s buffalo socks except that I now have 7 pairs and that is all I wear.
Yes, I know that this is about the Beanie but since it is for Christmas I haven’t worn it yet. I can bet that it is warmer and denser than any of the wool hats I make. Support the return of the Buffalo, our American icon, get warm with anything Buffalo —-PS try the gloves and mittens... the bed socks are to die for.
