1876. (reprinted and bound) This is a very nicely leather-bound reprint of Volume IV, Number 10 of the "Memoirs of the Museum of Comparative Zoology", Harvard University", and as you can see from the "Introduction" deals with the then prevailing beliefs on both pre-historic and then living bison in the United States.
Keep in mind this is at a time just before the "great slaughter .. just about 5 years before it really started ... but there is still enough discussion about hide hunters and wanton destruction to have made this timely both then and now. Well documented; with some excellent graphs/charts/schedules.
This is NOT a retyped or an ocr'd reprint. Illustrations, Index, if any, are included in black and white. Each page is checked manually before printing.
There are cheaper versions reprinted, but having this little leather bound version to me added just a touch of permanency to the volume. Enjoy, as I did ... (and it does make a great little gift) .
